Night out with the Family

So last Friday I went out with my family for a meal as my dad's parents were over from Spain and we hadn't seen them for awhile, my dad's brother also came down from Edinburgh, so it was a really good night out.

We first when for some drinks at the Town Wall and the bar was really nice but I have to say the did need more bar staff as two really wasn't enough, but it was nice to sit around and chat before we went for food, our table was booked at Ottoman for 8 although we didn't sit down until about half past as there was a mix up with put table, this is the third time I have eaten Turkish food and I have to say it really was amazing and it did remind me a lot of Red Mezza.

The food was really nice and we all enjoyed it, for starter me and Hayley shared a hot mixed mezza starter and for main I had the Lamb shish and I don't eat lamb very often as my mam doesn't really like it, and I was really but I couldn't finish it as there was a lot. For dessert we had baklava which has got to be one of my favourite desserts but I can never finish it.

The restaurant was really nice and the service was great and I would defiantly go there again and the location was great as well.

A Small Collective Haul

So last Tuesday I went shopping with Becca from A Polka Dot Notebook Blog and I picked up a few things from Debenhams, Boots and Marks and Spencer's.

So the first thing I picked up was the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara and Subversion primer £17.99:
I had know intention of buying this as I don't normally spend that much on mascara but Becca enabled me as she was wearing this and it looked amazing, and as this is new I got it for £17.99 which is much cheaper than it would have been if I had bought them separately.

The second thing I bought was from boots these were:
I picked up the Lynx Dry Deodorant in Excite £3.29:
I know that is for men but I really love the smell and it doesn't make me sneeze like most deodorants do.
The next thing I picked up was the Revlon Colourstay Moisture Stain in the Shade New York Scene £7.99
This is a dark red which is a very me colour and I have to say I have gotten quite of abit of wear out of it has it doesn't take ages to apply.
The next thing I picked up was the Sleek I-Divine Storm Palette £7.99:
I have wanted a sleek palette for awhile and I had decided that I didn't need another completely nude palette and I really like the shades that are in the palette.

Marks and Spencer's:-
Nuxe Rêve de Meil Lip Moisturings Stick with Honey and Sunflower £5.50
I have the Nuxe Rêve de Meil and I wanted something that I could carry around with me as I don't like to take the glass jar with me, I will get a lot of use out of this over the cooler months.

No7 Stay Prefect Superlight Foundation- Review

I bought this foundation a few weeks ago as I wanted something that was lighter than my normal foundation but something that wouldn't melt off my face within about an hour. I was also looking for something that I could also carry around with me when I was going swimming.

My friend has been using this foundation for while so I decided to give it ago and I went in to boots and was colour matched as the lightest shade (I don't no why I bother being colour matched).

So what can I say about this foundation well as the name suggests it is a light foundation that has light to medium coverage and it is great for just evening out the skin and I feel like I can get away with not wearing concealer, but it doesn't completely cover them but it does make them less noticeable.

Straight after appliction

6 hours later

The foundation itself has some powder in it which does help to slightly matte down my face and although it says it lasts for 24 hour I would say it lasts that long but it does look good during the day. I do however feel the need to powder it as I do tend to look quite shiny as the day goes on but that is normal with any foundation.

I have also worn this with and without a primer and I have found that it lasts a little longer with a matte primer as it help to control my oily skin.

I do really like this foundation and for its price I can't really complain £14.50 but No7 have a lot of offers on so it is possible to get it a little cheaper, and although it is more expensive than my Rimmel Match Perfect I prefer this foundation as it gives better coverage and it always looks good.

Books I've Been Reading

I don't get a lot of time to sit a read books during term time so I have been catching up on it during the holidays and I fallen back in love with my kindle.

I eventually finished Sarah Waters Fingersmith and I love this type of book and had great fun reading it but I has taken me a while to finish it as I felt like I had to be quite awake to read it so not great for reading before bed, but is great of bus journeys.

I also bought a book I have wanted to read ever since I saw the movie and that is Desert of the Heart, and loved this book it was a great read and only took me a few days to finish, thank god I have a amazon voucher. The book was great especially as it was published in 1964 and it was a groundbreaking story at the time.

Another book I bought for when I was on holiday was Playing the Game by Belle De Jour and so far I am enjoying the book, I do find myself laughing quite abit and it may not be to everyone's tastes I am enjoying reading it.

I have also started to reread some books and of course I have to start rereading the Harry potter series as these are books that I can read again and again.

Beauty wish list

So this is my Beauty Wish list

Elemis Fresh Skin, Skin Clear Mattifying Moisturiser £21.00: I have been looking for a very mattifying moisturiser, as my current one is running out and doesn't really help to control oil as much as I would like it too.

Illimasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow £17.50:
I have wanted a cream contour for a while but everyone I have seen has either been to dark or too orange for my very pale skin, but this colour looks like it would work really well.

Superfacialist Clay Mask £5.99:
Now I know that I can buy this online but with skin care I love going in to boots and looking around, I have been after this mask since Christmas when I bought my friend one as a Christmas present and it took me an age to find one and every time I have been into boots since it hasn't been in stock :(

Eucerin Purifyer Cleanser £9.50:
I have been using a sample of this for a few weeks that my friend gave me as she has raved about it and I have to say it is an amazing cleanser, which really does amazing things to my skin and really helps to stop breakouts.

Seven Deadly Sins Tag

1. Greed, What is you most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
My most inexpensive beauty item has to be one of my Makeup Revolution Eye shadow Palettes. My most expensive beauty item has to be my Urban Decay Naked Palettes.

2. Wrath, What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?
The beauty product that has been hardest to get, in fact I still haven't got it is the Super Facialist Anti Blemish Clay Mask, and yes I could buy this online but every time I have gone into boots it has been out of stock. The product I have a love/hate relationship with is my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation as some days it will look really nice and others it will look streaky.

3. Gluttony, What are your most delicious beauty product?
My most delicious beauty product would have to my Nuxe Reve de Miel as I love the smell and the product is amazing too.

4. Sloth, What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?
I normally neglect my eyebrows as I have rather full eyebrows and I can't really but bothered to do much to them.

5. Pride, What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
Lipstick is the product that gives me the most self confidence, and a good matte moisturiser too as hate it when my skin gets very oily.

6. Lust, What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
Erm... I don't really but I do find someone's personality very attractive.

7. Envy, What item would you like to receive as a gift?
If it was a beauty product I would have to say a Chanel lipstick but I really like it when a lot of though has gone into it.

Starting to swim again

It's safe to say I have a major love of swimming, it was one of the few sports that I was good at as it didn't involve running. When I was younger I used to be part of a swimming club and used to go swimming about twice a week.

I stopped swimming when I was around 12-13, although I have done a little bit here and there is hasn't been weekly like it was for most of my childhood, so about a year ago me and Becca mentioned that we would start to swim again but we never got around to it, so last week we decided that we would start so we did. We both remembered how much we loved swimming so we are going to start making it a regular thing which is very exciting as I now have the swimming bug which is brilliant.

We are aiming to go swimming once a week which is really good as it gives us both an excuse to meet up and get out of the house as we really need a push to leave the house during the holidays. we have also discovered that we do a lot more exercise when it is busy as we both feel the need to keep swimming so we don't keep anyone waiting.

This was just a little bit of an update and what I have been up to over the past few weeks.

Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil Review

I have been using this cleanser for awhile now and I thought it was about time that I reviewed it, the body shop say that the silky soft cleanser will effortlessly remove makeup and cleanse. It's really easy to use and I do love the body shop skin care as it has helped me out a lot in the past.

So now that we know what the body shop say it does let's hear my opinion, I have to say I love the smell of this product and it's not a over powering, I find the smell quite relaxing which is always nice for a cleanser.
The purpose of the cleanser is to remove make up and cleanse your face, so pretty simple really.

The texture of this cleanser is really soft and does feel amazing on the skin which is nice and it really does making removing makeup quick and easy which is always good as it doesn't take me an age to remove makeup and cleanse your face.

The packaging is really practical as it is clear which means you can see exactly how much product you have left and the pump is great as you don't end up with too much product so you don't waste much of the product. Another great thing about the product as on the back to gives clear instructions on how to use the product which is always a bonus ( I hate products that don't tell you how to use them).

As I have already said I really love this and it works really well it removes makeup really quickly and easily and it doesn't leave you skin feeling greasy or oily which is always good and I have found that I can use this with my oily skin and if says it is for all skin tupe and I have to say I agree with it as this would work on all skin types. I also love the fact that this can be used to remove eye makeup as I dislike having to use to different products to remove my makeup.
I would say that anyone can use this product, it's isn't anti aging but it would be suitable for anyone looking for a great way to remove makeup and cleansing their face. I will definitely repurchase this once I have finish it, which might take me awhile.

The cleanser costs £10.00 and you get 200ml of product.

You can find the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil here.

July Favourites

I really can't believe that it is the end of July already, so on to my July favourites

The first thing I have fallen back in love with is my Naked 2 palette, as I love my neutral eyeshadows and I have also been loving my purple eyeshadow from Inglot.

The second thing I have been loving this month is my Body Shop Camolie Cleansing oil as it makes taking my makeup off so quick and easier which is always brilliant, and it smell lovely too which is always a bonus for skin care.

For makeup brushes I have been completely in love with my new Crown Blush brush, as I can apply any type of blusher with is which is great and it means that I can apply my blusher to exactly where I want it which I struggled to do with my Real Techniques Blush Brush.

Another makeup favourite has to be my Estée Lauder Double wear foundation in the shade Ivory Nude,  although this is a very full coverage foundation it doesn't feel to heavy on my skin and it is the only foundation that won't melt of my face as the day goes on which is something I really struggle with in summer.

Early in the month I bought a new scrub from the body shop as my peach scrub had ran out so i decided to try the body shop Blueberry Scrub Gelee which I have to say I have fallen completely in love with as it is a very good scrub but I doesn't leave a sticky residue on my skin like some suger scrubs, for example soap and glory flake away.

Another thing I have been wearing a lot of this month is my body shop body mist in vinyard peach, it is a lovely stuble smell that lasts quite well on me, and it isn't a hassle to apply like my miniatures from L'Occitane.

That is it for my July favourites and I would love it if you could follow me on twitter and on bloglovin.
