May Favourites

Illimasqua Liquid Light Foundation in 133:
I have had this foundation for a while now and I really love how this looks on my skin as it gives a light coverage which is build able and it is perfect for spring and summer as it doesn't feel to heavy on the skin. I have had a disaster with this foundation before as I have found that it cannot be worn when it is raining as it will melt off the face.

Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Palette:
This is a recent purchase for me and I have reviewed it, and I have completely fell in love with it and have found myself neglecting my Naked palettes which used to be my go to for my everyday makeup, the colours are so easy to wear and are really blend able.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush:
This is also something that I have had for a while and I use this brush almost every time I put makeup on it is such an amazing brush it is really easy to use and make it very easy to buff my foundation in and it doesn't take forever which is a bonus.

Sleek Contour Kit in Light:
I really like contouring my face and this is one of the best products I have used, you do have to be very careful and it is really pigmented, which makes it very quick and easy to contour my face, I also like the fact that it comes with I highlighter and it is perfect for days when I am in a hurry as it don't have to hunt around for other products.

Makeup Revolution Highlighter in Peach Lights:
While I am on the topic of highlighter I have recently purchased the highlighter in peach lights for makeup revolution and I have fallen in love with it an have been neglecting my sleek highlighter as a results it is the perfect colour for my skin and is really fine so it gives an amazing glow to the skin and because it isn't to shimmery I don't have to worry about being heavy handed.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer:
Now I have been using the Benefit Porefessional for a while and really love it but I have sadly ran out so when I received a sample of the Smashbox primer I thought I should use that before deciding whether to repurchase the Porefessional and I really like it, it feels really nice on the skin and my makeup lasts all day which is a very good thing and I no that this would not be very good for my friend Becca as she has some issues with silicones in primers and it does feel like it contains a lot.

Makeup Revolution Matte Eye Primer:
Now I have to say I have been using the Urban Decay primer potion for about a year and up until now have not found a eyeshadow primer that matched, I can now say that I have, the matte eye primer from makeup revolution is really amazing and I think I prefer it to my urban decay primer, as it stop my eyes from getting very oily throughout the day and it makes my eyeshadow stay in place which is amazing, and makeup revolution also do different types of eye primer which I might have to check out sometime.

Makeup Revolution Essential Matte Palette:
My last favourite is the Essential matte palette from make revolution (can you see a theme) I have been using this palette on the days where I can't really be bothered to spend a lot of time on my eyes and I tend too use some of the lightest shades on my eyes and use one of the browns as a very quick and simple smokey eye.

Second Year at University Over

So this week was the last week of my Second Year at University and I have to say it has been a really interesting.

The first semester was made up of the two options that I was really looking forward to doing them, the first was Eating Disorders and I have to say that if this had been taught by any other lecture it would have been a different story. The subject itself is very interesting so much so that I am doing that for my 3rd year project and I completely enjoyed learning about this subjects.
My second option module was on the Psychology of Crime, which should have been a really interesting topic however the lecturer that taught this was very boring but the subject itself was very interesting, it was however more of a recap of what I had learnt at college but I still enjoyed it.

However Christmas was a strange time as it was obliviously the holidays but I had exams straight after Christmas which normally is fine however it made it very difficult to revise as I was still in holiday mode, I did however I did pass my exams which is good.

The second semester was a strange one as I didn't really get my motivation back after the Christmas break which is very unlike me. The options that I chose sounded interesting which is always helpful to keep you motivated.
The first one was the Psychology of Intimacy, which was taught by the most enthusiastic lecturer I have ever met and she made me really enjoy the subject and even writing the assignment was really enjoyable, however my second option was the Psychology of Happiness which sounds like it would be really interesting but the lecturer that taught this was not that great and the subject itself was not what I expected it to be and the assignment was very tedious.

Now my second year is over and it is a very strange that have only have a year left before I complete my degree and that feeling is completely scary as I don't really feel ready to be thinking about my third year, but i'm sure I will really enjoy my third year as I will be doing something that I really enjoy.

DYO Pre Launch Party

I have to say I was very surprised that I received an invite to this as I haven't been blogging for very long and I normally blog about make up,

The event itself was lovely it was held at Nacey's Bordello's which is a lovely little restaurant that isn't far from my University. The room what was used was just the right size to fit everybody and the cupcakes that they had were amazing, they were from the French Oven.

DYO is a design your own jewellery company that allows you to create your own bespoke jewellery pieces online, and the have an interface which allows you to place the semi-precious stones anywhere on the necklaces and bracelets, they also have rings which are very pretty. The jewellery is very pretty, some I like the more simple pieces that they make.

The brand is based in Newcastle which will hopefully create some jobs which would be very beneifcal to the area, and stones and semi-precious stones have been individually sourced and are helping communities which is always good and they are handmade which is brilliant....
Here are some of the pictures of the Jewellery below....

A Very Small Post Exam Haul

So today was my last exam of my 2nd year and uni, so i decide that I would do a little shopping, I didn't get very much but I do really like what I bought.

After the exam I had a meeting at the uni with one of the lectures but my exam finished at 10:30 and I was meeting her till 3pm so I decide to do a little shopping with my friend Becca.

The first things I bought were from Superdrug was two face mask one of which I have had my eye of for a while, The first mask was Superdrug Detoxifying Face Mask £2.59 which claims to provide a smooth and invigorated complexion, this is for normal to oily skin and as we all no I have very oily skin so I though this would help to clear out my pores as which exam prep I have been ignoring my skin (bad Becca),
The second mask I picked up was the Hydrating Face Mask £2.59 which claims to provide a soft and supple complexion, now this is for normal to dry skin but I sometimes feel that my skin can lack moisture, so this would be a great pick me up for my skin.

The next place we went was T K Maxx now I wasn't planning in buying anything but I spotted a great little bargain from Butter London it was the nail varnish in the shade Henley Regatta and if is a beautiful green-blue glitter, I'm not normally one for glitter but this looks amazing and for £4.99 is amazing as it should have cost me £14.79.

The last place we went was boots and this isn't very exciting but I suffer from hayfever and realised that I didn't have any medication in the house so I picked up the One a Day allergy Relief tablets (which I got for £0.49) from boots which are a life saver.

Bloggers Teaspoon Charity Event

So on Saturday I attended my first bloggers event and it was blogger teaspoon which was organising by my two good friends Becca and Rachel in aid of Lupus UK, which is an amazing charity that is very close to Rachel's heart and Beccas.

The event was held at Salsa Cafe Newcastle, which is a lovely family run restaurant and the room was lovely if not a little small which made even more difficult for me to socialise as I am really shy and nervous in unfamiliar situations but once I started to socialise with the help of Becca (and wine) I really enjoyed myself, and I have to say my diet may of went out the window as Alice caramel cupcakes were amazing and the food that salsa provided was okay nothing amazing but it was nice.

I hate to admit it but I didn't take any picture of the event which was very bad of me opps.... Although I no that alice from took a lot of photos.

I may have to do a post of what I was wearing because I absolutely loved it and I am so glad that I went  shopping with Becca and Rachel to buy this as I would have never chose it for myself, and I also adore the blazer which I will get a lot of wear out of it. I also felt amazing all day which is strange when I were a dress.

We were also given goodie bags that were provided by the intu metrocentre which was very nice of them mine contained a nail varnish from Tara's Talons I have a glitter blue, it also contain a £25 off voucher for hays travel, which was very nice of them. I also received some tea pigs which am was very excited about and I still have some to try. The good bag also contained a lot of information about lupus which was nice. I also got a sample of Alien perfume which smells amazing. I also got some sample of the nelsons purifying daily facial wash, I also got a sample of rainforest moisture hair butter from the body shop, I also received a sample of the Pantene pro-v protect and smooth conditioner for coloured hair. I also got a sample if cashmere SPF 30+ advanced sun defense. The last few things I received was the Kleenex shine absorbing sheets that are powder free which will come in very handy. The last thing I received was the balance active fresh Intimate wipes.

Makeup Revolution Essential Matte Review

The first thing to say is I am in love with makeup revolution and have fell in love with both of the palettes I have from them, in this post I am going to review the Essential Matte Palette, I was so excited to receive this palette as I have always wanted a Matte palette but didn't want to pay £35 for the Paula's Choice Matte Palette.

The first thing I noticed was the packaging again it is the same packaging as the Iconic 3 and I have found that I really like that I can see the product through the lid, which means that it is easy to find in my makeup tool box.

The second thing I noticed was the colour althought they are not as highly pigmented as the Iconic 3 the are really buildable and really easy to blend which means that I can do my make up in a short period of time if I am in a hurry as I don't have to worry too much about getting shimmer under my eyes.

The texture of these eyeshadows are really buttery and blend able means that it doesn't take me an age to do my eyeshadows, the is however some fallout but I have yet to find an eyeshadow that doesn't have some fallout but this isn't really that much of a problem for me as I just wipe away the fallout with my foundation brush

I also have found that these colours really last well on me and don't fade throughout the day which is great if I am at uni all day as it's not like I can reapply my eyeshadow. I also love that all the shade can be used together which gives lots of different options for eyeshadow combinations.

Make-up Revolution Iconic 3 Review

The first thing to say is a am completely in love with this eye-shadow palette and for the price I would recommend it to anyone, it is meant to be a dupe for the naked 3 and I have to say from the swatches of the two side by side I would have to say that it is.

On to the review the first thing I loved was the packaging you can see the shadows and the colours through the clear lid which is something I really like as it makes it look extra pretty, I also love the front and colour they use, I have to say packaging for me is really important, I have the Urban Decay Naked and Naked 2 palettes and I really like the packaging for the Naked palette as it is light and easy to carry round (not so much my Naked 2) and that is what I love about the Iconic 3 palette as it is light weight which would be great for travelling and although it is wider than the naked palettes it doesn't take away from the overall look and it is still easy to store in the make-up tool box (yes I do keep my make-up in a tool box) anyway overall I love the packaging.

I really like the colours of the eye-shadows and as said in my Make-up Revolution haul, I really wanted to try the Naked 3 but I wasn't sure if the colours and I am so happy the make-up revolution brought this out as I am completely in love with all the colours in this palette and they are so wearable it is amazing, I have also found it really easy to turn it from day make-up to night make-up by just adding the black to the outer corner and I am ready to go, and it means I dint have to reapply my whole face.

I do like the texture of these eye shadows and although there is some fall out I don't find it much more than my Naked palettes and it doesn't really bother me but it might annoy some people but you never feel like I am wasting product with the palette. The other thing that I live about this is that the colours are so easy to blend that it takes no time for me to do my eye shadow and it has decreased the amount of time it takes for me to do my make up.

I have also found that these shadows last all day on my which is saying something as even with a primer my eye shadow can crease or just disappear as I have really oily eyelids (to much info?) which means that sometimes during the day I will notice that my eye shadow starts to disappear however with this palette I have noticed that I will last all day and will look better as the day goes on and for £4.00 you can really can't go wrong.

Another Boots Haul

Surprise Surprise I was in boots again on Tuesday morning and may have purchased some hair products. The lady from bumble and bumble found me and my friend Becca if we had time to have our hair done and we did so she used bumble and bumble dry spun thickening spray and the Ojon hair oil for dry ends.

So after that she informed use that if we got two full size products we could get a smash box goody bag, now I think I must of been I a spending mood as I normally will over think how much I need a product and normally come away without it...

So the first thing I picked up was the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dry Spun Finish Spray:
On the bottle is say that it is a dry spray that creates instant fullness and holds airy texture. I do really like how much volume this gives me however I have to say that you have to be careful how much you use in your hair or you will have voluminous  hair for days, the women at the bumble and bumble counter was a little to over enthusiastic with this, however in moderation it will give me amazing volume. It is also quite expensive for £21.50, now this is a lot more than I would normally spend on hair products but I was treating myself.

The second this I brought was the bumble and bumble grooming creme:
This wasn't something I even considered buying but the women at the counter by this point was annoying me which isn't too hard to do but she kept trying to get me to but colour protective shampoo and conditioner and wasn't listening when I said I had just bought some and she did the same with there thickening mouse and if you have read by hair care haul you will no that I have just bought some, however back to the product I have used this and I use it really to help smooth my hair out and it does help my hair look really nice I will use it more and possibly review.  It is expensive for £22.00, but it does help my hair dry straighter.

The third thing I bought (which I forgot to photography sorry) was the Tresemmé instant refresh dry shampoo that now I have had a bit of a love hate relationship with dry shampoo as I don't like the batiste dry shampoo and I felt like it didn't do anything for my hair, however I have tried this and it does make by hair feel less greasy, which is always a plus, and for £5,25 you can really go wrong and this actually works for my hair.

Now on the samples that I received, the first thing was the Bb thickening shampoo and conditioner:
Now I have tried sample of the bumble and bumble shampoo and conditioner so I am really hoping that I like this but there shampoo and conditioner and really expensive, so it's nice to get a sample.

The second sample I got was a sample of the Ojon rare blend moisture therapy oil for dry ends now the women claimed that it helped to repair split ends however nothing care repair slip ends as the hair is dead however it did make my hair feel really nice and soft but the oil I use at home also does the same for a fraction of the price but it is a nice thing to have as this should last for a while.

The last hair care sample was the Bb thickening hairspray, which does not look like a hair spray however I am looking forward to trying out the sample of this and seeing how this works although I have to say it smells amazing.

The first makeup sample was the Smashbox full exposure mascara in jet black now this is the type of sample that I would take away with me as it is sample and won't take up a lot of space in my makeup, however I have to say that I am excited to buy this but I will probably use up my Benefit there real mascara first before I open this as I can make samples of mascaras last for an age.

The last sample I got was the Smashbox photo finish foundation primer, I am also out of my Benefit Porefessional so I will be getting a lot of use out of this however I do t think I would my the full size but it will be nice to test out.

Makeup Revolution Haul

So if any one hasn't heard of makeup revolution then where have up been!!!

I pick up 4 products I will be ordering more!!!

The first thing I picked up was the Essential mattes, which are a collection of matte neutral shades, I was really excited when I saw that there was a matte netural eye shadow palette as I have been looking at the Paula's choice matte eyeshadow palette but was reluctant to spend £35.00 on palette. The colours in this palette are very similar to that palette and for £4.00 I could really go wrong

The second thing I picked up was the Iconic 3 eyeshadow palette, which is meant to be a dupe for the  Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, now I don't have this palette and I did want the Urban Decay Naked 3 but I was not sure how the pink tones would look on me so I was yet again reclucant to spend £36.00 on that palette especially if I didn't suit me. I don't mid however spending £4.00 on the eyeshadow palette, I haven't used this properly yet so I might do an indpeth review once I have used it but I did swatch all the colours and they are really pigmented.

The third product I picked up was a Highlighter in Peach Lights, I am actually wearing this as I am writing this post, I really like this a it isn't too shimmery, which means that I can use it on a daily basis and not look like I have sprinkled glitter on my face (yes i have looked like I have done that before) and for £3.00 it is really good value for money.

The last product I picked was the Kajal and this was something the I found intriguing as I wasn't really sure how it worked, I have tried this out the day I got it an it is something that I will need to practice with as it creates a really thick line which isn't really what I look for when I am doing my eyeliner, however I am going to trying using a liner brush to apply this and see how it works that way, I would have adored this if it had a thinner point, but for £2.00 I can't really complain and I will find a away to use it.
